Domino Theatre presents Mail Order Annie

On October 17, "Mail Order Annie" will open at the Domino Theatre on Church Street. "Mail Order Annie" is written by local author, Carl Cashin. This story leads us through the life of "Annie" a young woman from Belleville who travels by train to meet her husband in rural Saskatchewan in 1923 whom she only knows through a correspondence of letters. After a very rocky start where the kindly porter tries to convince Annie to return to her home, we follow Annie and John through the next 23 years of their life as they raise their children through the upswing of the twenties to the depression years and finally through the second world war to 1946. We are drawn into their story of joy, tragedy, hope, courage and love. This show is directed by Mae Wood and Stage Managed by Susan Hazel. The characters are brought alive by Nicolle Bischoff as Annie, Sean O'Ray as John, Wihse Green as Thomas and Maggie Zatterberg as Clare. The Troubadour played by Sam Wood will be performing original music written for this show by Andy McGaw. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Grand Theatre Box Office or at the door on the night of performance. The shows run Thursday to Saturday, October 17 to November 2. A perfect way to spend a fall evening.
