Domino Theatre Presents The Last Romance

Domino Theatre's first production of 2013 is The Last Romance by Joe DiPietro. The play is directed by Ken Weston. The cast are veterans of Kingston theatre : Gordon Muir, Barbara Dunnett and Penny Nash.

Ralph, an eighty-year-old widower, shares his home with his separated sister Rose. Ralph is an opera lover, who missed out on a career as an opera singer because of an unfortunate incident in his youth. Ralph walks daily and one day takes a different route and finds himself in a dog park where he meets Carol, who is walking her dog. A romance evolves and Carol, as a gift, arranges to take Ralph to Italy to La Scala. As in many romances, things do not work out the way they are planned.

This heart warming comedy/drama is layered with humour and will warm the heart of those of any age. If you enjoy opera, here is your chance to immerse yourself in a lovely play and enjoy some wonderful arias at the same time.

The Last Romance plays in the Davies Foundation Auditorium at the Domino Theatre Thursdays through Saturdays Jan. 10 to Jan. 27. Curtain time is 8 p.m. Tickets are $18 each through the Grand Theatre box office 613.530.2050 or at the Domino ticket office after 7 p.m. the night of the performance, subject to availability.
