Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express

This is Ken Ludwig's clever adaptation of the Agatha Christie classic and boasts all the glamour, intrigue and suspense of Dame Agatha's celebrated novel with a healthy dose of humour to quicken the pace.

The luxurious train "The Orient Express" is stalled by snow overnight on the tracks. In the morning there is one passenger less and Christie's famous detective Hercule Poirot must interrupt his trip home to London from the Middle East to search for the murderer among the strange and exotic group of remaining passengers. Everyone has a motive—and everyone has an alibi.

One of Agatha Christie's best-known novels, Murder on the Orient Express was first published in the United Kingdom in January 1934, appearing later that year in the United States under the title Murder on the Calais Coach. In 1995 the novel was included in the Mystery Writers of America's The Top 100 Mystery Novels of All Time list, and in December 2014 Entertainment Weekly included it in its list of the Nine Great Christie Novels.

The novel has been adapted for radio, television, film and the stage, including movie versions in 1974 and 2017 and Ken Ludwig's stage adaptation, which premiered at the McCarter Theater in Princeton, N.J., in 2017.
