Celebrating her birthday, Daisy invites a handsome stranger back to the apartment she shares with Sharon. His name is Rafe. He's charming, sings, and has a very interesting past.

Daisy and Rafe are alone in her apartment. A noisy party is going on next door. He sings to her, flirts with her and tells her stories about himself and the things he's done. Some of the stories make him seem a little dangerous, some surely can't be true. But does it matter? This is better than being alone on her birthday. Or is it?

One Night Stand blurs the lines between perception and reality, making for a truly scary evening.

First produced by Tarragon Theatre in Toronto in 1977, One Night Stand was Carol Bolt's most successful play. A television adaptation won three Canadian Film Awards in 1978.
