Fall Into Shakespeare 2026 - Workshop Two

Fall Into Shakespeare 2026 - Workshop Two

Fall Into Shakespeare Workshop with Will O'Hare

Workshop Two: Directing Shakespeare - From the Page to the Stage

Location: Domino Theatre Mainstage & Lounge, 52 Church St, Kingston Ontario

Focus: Actors, Space, Movement, and Staging Choices

This workshop picks up where the first session leaves off: how does an interpretation become theatre?

We’ll explore scenes on their feet. Directing actors. Using space. Staging soliloquies. Handling entrances, exits, crowd scenes, and transitions. Exploring doubling, movement, rhythm, and the actor-audience relationship.

The guiding question is the one every director eventually faces: I have to stage this play in a week. What do I do?

Participants will leave with practical tools they can use in rehearsal right away, whether they are directing, acting, teaching, or simply trying to understand how these plays work onstage.

Workshop One is useful preparation but not required. Each session stands on its own.

Workshop Fee:

  • Domino Theatre Members: $15 per workshop
  • Non-Members: $20 per workshop

Workshop space is limited and each workshop will be capped at 24 participants. If the event is full, please add yourself to the waitlist and we will contact you if any spots open up. If you have any questions about the workshop, please contact: astonw@queensu.ca.
